SALDAT
Story and mission

We built SALDAT
because no European tool was enough

YNAB, Mint, Copilot, Spendee. They all look good. None of them was right for us here in Europe.

🌍 Why SALDAT?

Back in 2024 I wanted a proper picture of our family finances. I tried YNAB ($14.99 a month — beyond what an ordinary Slovak family will pay), Mint (Intuit shut it down on 23 March 2024, and it had never been available in the EU anyway), Copilot Money (Apple only — iOS and macOS, no Android and no web) and Spendee (no support for several currencies within one family, and none for Slovak banks).

None of them accounted for European reality: SEPA transfers, several currencies in one household (EUR, CZK, USD), GDPR-compliant hosting and CSV exports from Slovak banks (Tatra, SLSP, mBank, VÚB).

The existing tools were either too expensive for a European customer, or built for the American market with local specifics ignored.

⚡ What sets it apart

🇪🇺 Europe first

Daily ECB exchange rates, presets for Slovak banks, GDPR-compliant hosting in the EU.

🌐 Multi-currency by default

Keep CZK, EUR and USD in one wallet, converted at ECB rates.

🤖 An AI feel without vendor lock-in

Money Personality, smart insights, an AI assistant — all evaluated locally.

🔓 No lock-in

Full CSV export whenever you want. Your data is yours.

💎 Assets and debts together

Shares, ETFs and crypto alongside mortgages and loans in a single net worth figure.

📊 Deeper analytics

Year-on-year comparison, a 90-day forecast, a GitHub-style heatmap and an annual review.

🏷 Everything is editable

Edit or delete anything. None of the “once and for all” frustration.

📲 PWA and Cmd+K

Installable on your phone, with fuzzy search across all of your data.

Peter Weidinger
Founder and developer · WEIDO s.r.o.

I work in marketing and am doing a PhD alongside it. We built SALDAT as our own project, working together as a team — the idea came from a need of my own: to have financial analytics, a family and a personal budget, and task tracking all in one place.

I live in Bratislava, have a family and an eye for detail. We work on SALDAT as a small team, so every change passes through more than one pair of eyes before it reaches you.
